On February 14 to 16 of 2010, Global Deaf Muslim (GDM) is hosting a first-ever conference at Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) for the world’s Deaf Muslims. We aim to bridge gaps between the hearing and non-hearing Muslims around the world, provide networking opportunities for deaf Muslims from every culture, and –most importantly—allow Muslims who are hard of hearing to, for the first time ever, gain access to pearls of Islamic knowledge, wisdom & Scripture from some of the best scholars around the world.

You might wonder why we chose Dubai instead of a location in the United States where GDM is currently based. We seek to take advantage of Dubai’s central location that would allow people from Africa, Europe, Asia and Oceania to come together. We are thankful to Allah for the support of DWTC as the conference’s location. The theme of the conference is: “Togetherness, Inclusiveness & the Promotion of Religious Equality in the Spirit of Islam in Global Deaf Muslim Community”

Currently, we respectfully request consideration of your sponsorship or contributions for our goals (totaling $80,000) in the following specific areas:

  • 10 Sign Language Interpreters (Arabic, Urdu, American Sign Language & British Sign Language

  • Speakers & interpreters’ flights and accommodations

  • Sponsorship for deaf participants from Third World Countries for flight, room/board & registration

  • Food from a vendor in Dubai

We would greatly appreciate if individuals, businesses and/or organizations would consider becoming a sponsor for the event. All sponsors will be graciously acknowledged and businesses will be advertised in our program guide. There are different levels of sponsorship as outlined in the table below:
