Hamad Abdulaziz Al-Humaid, a student at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC, majoring in International Government. Hamad was born a hard of hearing and grew up in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Hamad completed both his elementary and high school in Saudi Arabia. Hamad decided to come to the United States to study in order to increase his knowledge and take his rich experience back to Saudi Arabia to work with the government of the Kingdom.
Hamad believes that the government works for its people’s wishes and the people also work with the government. Hamad’s goal is to study more about world history and politics that will lead him to obtain a higher degree in order to have a better chance of attaining a best position in government in Saudi Arabia, Ensha Allah. He asks everyone to make duaae (supplication) for him and for the endeavor of Deaf Muslim Community.
For living his life, Islam is very important to his life, having been to both the Deaf Muslim community in Saudi Arabia and several countries in the Middle East as well as the United States. Based on that experiences and interactions with Deaf Muslims in each community, Hamad realizes that Deaf Muslims really need support from the mainstream Muslims and ideas to develop. Hamad is, therefore, happy to be working with the Global Deaf Muslim to develop the Deaf Muslim Communities in the world in order to increase Deaf People’s knowledge about Islam and issues concerning Deaf People. Hamad aspires to work for the government in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Deaf Muslim Communities around the world.
Brother Hamad believes the experiences acquired working in Tabuk with the President of Tabuk Judiciary for one year and four years as an Assistant under the Deputy of Governor of Tabuk for Rights Affairs before coming to the United State for his education, can help him in handling his responsibility with the Global Deaf Muslim and make meaningful contribution to the Deaf Muslim Community in the world with the Global Deaf Muslim.
